Etymology: < classical Latin ōrātiuncula short oration < ōrātiō oration n. + -uncula -uncle suffix. Compare French orationcule (1838). N.E.D. (1903) gives the pronunciation as (orēiʃiˌɒ·ŋk'l) /ɒreɪʃɪˈʌŋk(ə)l/.
