Etymology: < osteo- comb. form + -tome comb. form, after German Osteotom (1844 or earlier; 1838 or earlier as Osteatom ) or scientific Latin osteotomus (1844 or earlier). Compare earlier osteotomist n., osteotomy n.
Surgery.
Any of various surgical instruments used to cut bone.
