Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin opīnābilis.
Etymology: < classical Latin opīnābilis based on opinion < opīnārī opine v. + -bilis -ble suffix. Compare Middle French opinable (c1380). N.E.D. (1903) gives the pronunciation as (opəi·năb'l, †ǫ·pinăb'l) /əʊˈpaɪnəb(ə)l//ˈɒpɪnəb(ə)l/.
