Etymology: Altered spelling of oh my gosh (see my gosh! at gosh n.), apparently intended to represent a rapid or emphatic pronunciation. Compare earlier omigod int.

Expressing excitement, surprise, dismay, fear, etc.; = my gosh! at gosh n.
