Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin nūtrītor.
Etymology: < classical Latin nūtrītor a person who feeds or nourishes, a person who brings up a child < nūtrīt- , past participial stem of nūtrīre nourish v. + -or -or suffix. Compare Italian nutritore one who nourishes (end of the 13th cent. as nutridore).
