Origin: A borrowing from Russian. Etymon: Russian novičok.
Etymology: < Russian novičok, use as a name of a nerve agent of novičok newcomer, novice (a derivative of novyj new: see new adj.).
Any of a group of highly toxic organophosphate nerve agents developed in the former Soviet Union.
