A volatile base distilled from bone oil, later identified with picoline.

1842 W. T. Brande Dict. Sci., Lit. & Art 841/2 Odorin, one of the products of the redistillation of the volatile oil obtained by distilling bone; it has a very concentrated and diffusible empyreumatic odour, and is regarded by Unverdorben as a peculiar salifiable base.
1877 H. Watts Dict. Chem. IV. 174 Odorine, a volatile base obtained by Unverdorben from bone-oil. It appears to have been impure picoline.
