Etymology: < Hellenistic Greek ὀκτάκις eight times (already in ancient Greek in ὀκτακισχίλιοι eight thousand) < ὀκτα- octa- comb. form + -κις, suffix forming multiplicative adverbs.Attested in a small number of formations from the late 19th and 20th centuries, as below.
