1990 Nostratic in sci.lang (Usenet newsgroup) 16 Sept. In his article ‘The Mother Tongue’ in the May/June 1990 issue of The Sciences, leading Nostraticist Vitaly Shevoroshkin writes (p.27): Naturally, proto-World was a rather basic language.
1991 Sci. Amer. Apr. 75/3 Vitaly Shevoroshkin, a former associate of the Soviet Nostraticists now teaching at the University of Michigan, observed that the vocabulary includes words like haya, which meant the running down of game over a period of days.
1998 Current Anthropol. 39 142/1 Greenberg's classification contrasts on this point with that of Nostraticists, who lump Afroasiatic and Dravidian along with Indo-European and some other language families in a macrophylum.
