Etymology: < Nostradamus, Latinized form of the name of Michel de Nostredame, French physician (1503–66) who published a collection of prophecies in 1555.N.E.D. gives the pronunciation as /nɒstrəˈdeɪməs/.
Now rare.
A person who claims to be able to foretell the future; a seer or prophet.
