Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: number v., -able suffix.
Etymology: < number v. + -able suffix. Compare earlier numbrable adj. and later numerable adj. 2.In form, Older Scots numerable is indistinguishable from numerable adj.; some examples may belong instead at that entry. With quot. c1550 at sense 1 compare variant reading with -ov- ; with quot. 15961 at sense 2 compare quot. 15962 at sense 2.
