单词 | bathorhodopsin |
释义 | bathorhodopsinn. Biochemistry. An isomer of rhodopsin that is formed when light is absorbed by the chromophoric part of the molecule and (unless stabilized at very low temperature) changes spontaneously to lumirhodopsin. Also called prelumirhodopsin. ΚΠ 1972 T. Yoshizawa in H. J. A. Dartnall Photochem. Vision v. 148 Irradiation with short-wave light..causes a bathrochromic shift, owing to the conversion of rhodopsin to ‘bathrhodopsin’ (which is the same as pre-lumirhodopsin)... In this chapter the name, bathrhodopsin, is used in preference to pre-lumirhodopsin. 1984 Vision Res. 24 1445 Bathorhodopsin thermally decays through lumirhodopsin and meta I-rhodopsin, to meta II-rhodopsin through a series of coupled equilibria. 2003 Proc. National Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 100 9266/1 After photolysis, the chromophore isomerizes to form bathorhodopsin,..which has a characteristic twisted ethylenic chain. This is a new entry (OED Third Edition, December 2006; most recently modified version published online December 2021). < n.1972 |
