Etymology: Shortened < post-classical Latin non prosequitur (see non-prosequitur n.). N.E.D. (1907) gives the pronunciation as (nǫnprǫ·s) /nɒnˈprɒs/.
Law. Obsolete.
A judgment entered against a plaintiff on the grounds that the prosecution of an action has not taken place within the time allowed.
