Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: non- prefix, objective n.
Etymology: < non- prefix + objective n. In sense B. 2 after Russian bespredmetnyj (1891 or earlier in general sense, 1913 or earlier in relation to art) < bes-, form before p of bez-, prefix meaning ‘without’ + predmet object, thing + -nyj, suffix forming adjectives.
