One of the major branches of the Rharhabe division of the Xhosa people, centred mainly in the Eastern Cape province; = Amangqika n.

1982 Eastern Province Herald (Port Elizabeth) 10 Aug. 9 After the frontier war of 1877–78 the Nqika people under Chief Sandile were driven across the Kei River to Kentani and the area was opened up for white farmers.
1991 T. Pakenham Scramble for Afr. iii. 50 Back came some Gcalekas, across the Kei river and into the colony where they stirred up the Ngquikas led by their Chief Sandile.
