Etymology: < neo- comb. form + Pythagoreanism n. Compare French néopythagorisme (1828), German Neupythagoreismus (1864 in the passage translated in quot. 1865). Compare slightly earlier neopythagorean adj.
A revived or modified form of Pythagoreanism.
