Etymology: < neuro- comb. form + -toxic comb. form, probably after French névrotoxique (E. Enriquez & A. Sicard 1900, in Comptes rendus de la Soc. de Biol. 52 905). Compare earlier neurotoxical adj. and also neurotoxin n.
