Origin: A borrowing from Greek. Etymon: Greek νεοδαμώδης.
Etymology: < ancient Greek νεοδαμώδης newly enfranchised < νεο- neo- comb. form + (Doric) δᾶμος (Attic δῆμος ) people (see deme n.2) + -ώδης -ode comb. form1.
