Etymology: < post-classical Latin abiectivus abasing, degrading (14th cent. in a British source) < classical Latin abiect- , past participial stem of abicere to throw away (see abject adj.) + -īvus -ive suffix.
Obsolete. rare.
That tends to lower or demoralize a person.
