Etymology: < natch v. + -ed suffix1.Compare English regional natched-head ‘recess cut from the stone to receive the window-frame’, recorded by Eng. Dial. Dict. s.v. from West Yorkshire.
rare (in later use only Scottish).
Indented, nicked, incised; = notched adj. In later Scottish use also: having the appearance of a notch (cf. quot. 1817 at natch n.1 1).
