Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin naso-palatinus.
Etymology: < scientific Latin naso-palatinus (A. Scarpa Anatomicarum Annotationum (ed. altera, 1792) ii. v. 59) < naso- naso- comb. form + classical Latin palātum palate n. + -īnus -ine suffix1 (compare palatine adj.2). Compare French naso-palatin (1855 or earlier).

Relating to or connecting the nasal cavity and the palate.
