Origin: A borrowing from Greek. Etymon: Greek νευρικός.
Etymology: < Hellenistic Greek νευρικός belonging to the sinews, suffering from contraction of the tendons < ancient Greek νεῦρον sinew, tendon, nerve (see neuro- comb. form) + -ικός -ic suffix. Compare earlier neurical adj.R. G. Mayne gives a Latin form neuricus (see quot. 1857) and a French form névrique.
Obsolete. rare.
Of or relating to a nerve or nerves.
