Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French nanisme.
Etymology: < French nanisme (I. Geoffroy St-Hilaire Hist. gén. et particulière des anomalies (1832) I. i. i. 162) < classical Latin nānus dwarf (see nano- comb. form) + French -isme -ism suffix.
