Origin: A borrowing from French; perhaps partly modelled on a Latin lexical item. Etymon: French myopie.
Etymology: < French myopie (see myopia n.). In later use perhaps partly after post-classical Latin myopia (see myopia n.).
Now rare.
Myopia, short-sightedness. Also figurative.
