1807 R. Morris & J. Kendrick Edinb. Med. & Physical Dict. II Thymiama..or Thus judæorum, musk-wood; a kind of bark, in small brownish-grey pieces, brought from Syria, and supposed to be the produce of the liquid-storax tree.
1892 New Sydenham Soc. Lexicon Muskwood, the name of a bark obtained from Syria, and supposed to be the product of the liquid storax tree. It has an agreeable balsamic smell.
