Ehrlich 1887, in Charité-Annalen 12 295 in an irregular form (perhaps a misprint) Myklozyth). In this sense compare earlier French médullocelle (1855 in Littré-Robin) and also German Knochenmarkzelle (P. Ehrlich 1887, in Charité-Annalen 12 291 (heading)).
