1962 Sci. Surv. 3 253 1 gram of muscone (the odorous principle of musk) contains about 2.18 × 1021 molecules.
1992 Independent 21 Dec. 14/3 Chemists have identified several components of musk. One, muscone, is now made in the laboratory and is the synthetic material used in modern perfumes.
