Origin: A borrowing from Urdu. Etymon: Urdu muġlaī.
Etymology: < Urdu muġlaī (adjective) in a Mughal style < muġal , muġul (see Mogul n.1) + , suffix forming adjectives.
Of food, a dish, etc.: cooked in an Indian style involving one of a variety of rich sauces. Also as postmodifier. Occasionally as n.: a dish cooked in this style.Such dishes are popular in the north of India, and frequently regarded as gourmet cuisine, inherited from the Mughal era.
