Etymology: < mund n. + bruche n.1 Compare mundbreach n.The form myndebruche in quot. 1482 is probably an error for mundebriche or mundbreche in the earlier manuscript versions, subsequently taken up in Cowell's dictionary as mindbruch (see quot. 1607).
Law. Now historical.
Transgression of the rights of protection; a breach of the peace. Also (occasionally): the fine paid for this offence.
