Etymology: As noun < post-classical Latin mundatorium implement or means of washing (5th cent.), use as noun of neuter of mundatorius suitable for washing (5th cent.) < mundator a person who washes something or someone (5th cent.; < classical Latin mundāt- , past participial stem of mundāre (see mundation n.) + -or -or suffix) + -ius , suffix forming adjectives (compare -ory suffix2). As adjective < post-classical Latin mundatorius, adjective.
