Of or relating to the genus Monticulipora or related genera of massive stony colonial bryozoans found as fossils from early Palaeozoic times.In the 19th cent. monticuliporoids were widely believed to be corals, but are now recognized as bryozoans, chiefly of the stenolaemate order Trepostomata.
