Norfolk II. 384 To Moys, to thrive; spoken of crops and stock: also in a general sense; as, ‘he muddles on but does not moys’. 1791 Gentleman's Mag. 61 ii. 1022 It is a common saying among the common people of this place [sc. Norwich] when a person does not seem to recruit after a fit of illness, or when he does not thrive in the world, that such an one does not moise. a1825 R. Forby Vocab. E.
