Etymology: < mono- comb. form + sexual adj. Compare earlier bisexual adj., unisexual adj. O.E.D. Suppl. (1976) gives only the pronunciation (mǫnose·ksiuăl) /mɒnəʊˈsɛksjuːəl/.
