Any of several compounds which are formed from a single molecule each of phosphoric acid, a sugar, and a heterocyclic base, and are the units of which nucleic acids are composed; a monomeric nucleotide. ΚΠ 1908 Jrnl. Chem. Soc. 94 i. 587 The composition of the thyminglucophosphoric acid is almost identical with that of heminucleic acid.., and may be considered to be a mononucleotide. 1934 C. C.
