Etymology: < mono- comb. form + ancient Greek μικτός (see mictic adj.) + -ic suffix, probably after holomictic adj. at holo- comb. form , meromictic adj. Compare amictic adj., oligomictic adj., polymictic adj.
Limnology.
Of a lake: having only one seasonal period of free circulation each year.
