Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin modioliformis.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin modioliformis (see quot. 1839 at sense 1) < classical Latin modiolus modiolus n. + -formis -form comb. form2. Compare French modioliforme (1840).
1. Biology. That resembles the hub of a wheel. Obsolete. rare.
