Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin moderābilis.
Etymology: < classical Latin moderābilis that can be controlled, controllable, in post-classical Latin also moderate (9th cent.) < moderārī (see moderate v.) + -ābilis -able suffix. Compare Italian moderàbile (1598 in Florio).
Obsolete. rare.
