Etymology: < classical Latin mollitiēs softness (see mollities n.) + -ous suffix. Compare earlier mollity n. N.E.D. (1907) gives the pronunciation as (mǫli·ʃəs) /mɒˈlɪʃəs/.
Now rare (poetic or archaic in later use).
Luxurious; sensuous.
