Origin: Formed within English, by derivation; perhaps partly modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: Mongol n., -ize suffix.
Etymology: < Mongol n. + -ize suffix, perhaps partly after French mongoliser (1843). Compare earlier Mongolized adj. N.E.D. (1907) gives only the pronunciation (mǫ·ŋgǫ̆ləiz) /ˈmɒŋɡəlaɪz/.
Now rare.
transitive. To make Mongolian in character, customs, etc.; to introduce a significant Mongolian element into. Usually in passive.
