Origin: A borrowing from Norn.
Etymology: < the unattested Norn reflex of the early Scandinavian word represented by Norwegian regional mirra , myrra to tingle, of uncertain origin: perhaps related to Swedish myrla to swarm, teem (see mirl v.).
Orkney and Shetland.
intransitive. To tingle; to quiver, tremble.
