Western Austral. 19 13 In examining the Minyulo outcrop there was seen to be a fibrous mineral, closely resembling wavellite, which occurred in small quantities in a hard phosphatic ironstone carrying partly altered apatite nodules... The mineral has been proved in the laboratory to be a well defined new species for which the authors suggest the name Minyulite.

1961 Mineral. Abstr. 15 210/2 Minyulite..occurs on Visean shales and phthanites in Belgium as fine silky fibers, ranging 60 to 300 μ, often grouped together in radiating rosettes (1 to 3 mm).

1981 Neues Jarhb. f. Mineral. Monatshefte 505 Minyulite, KAl₂F(H₂O)₄(PO₄)₂, is still considered a fairly rare mineral species.
