1988 Brit. National Formulary (Brit. Med. Assoc.) xv. 278/2 Plicamycin (mithramycin; Mithracin) is no longer used as a cytotoxic, but has found a useful role in low dose in the emergency therapy of hypercalcaemia due to malignant disease.
