mixed ether n. [after French éther mixte (G. Chancel 1850, in Comptes rendus hebd. de l'Acad. des Sci. 31 522)] Chemistry an ether (ether n. 5c) having the formula R′OR″, where R′ and R″ are dissimilar alkyl groups.
