Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: bad adj., mouth n.
Etymology: < bad adj. + mouth n.With sense 1 compare French Creole (Dominica) bouch-kabwit , (Guadeloupe) lang a kabrit , both lit. ‘goat mouth’ (on account of goats being associated with bad influence). With sense 2 compare French Creole (St Lucia, Tobago, Trinidad) mové-lang, lit. ‘bad tongue, bad mouth’.
