单词 microseism
释义

microseismn.

Brit. /ˈmʌɪkrə(ʊ)ˌsʌɪz(ə)m/, U.S. /ˈmaɪkroʊˌsaɪz(ə)m/
Origin: Formed within English, by compounding; probably modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: micro- comb. form, seism n.
Etymology: < micro- comb. form + seism n., probably after French microséisme (earliest as microsisme : D'Abbadie 1875, in Comptes rendus de l'Acad. des Sci. 80 1237). Compare earlier microseismic adj. and microseismical adj.Littré (1877) gives D'Abbadie's spelling as microsisme, but microséisme occurs in the original text. D'Abbadie implies that the word may have been used earlier by Bouquet de la Grye, but this use has not been traced.
