释义 | mihrabn. Islam. 1. A niche in the wall of a mosque indicating the direction of Mecca, towards which Muslim worshippers must face in prayer. Also (occasionally) figurative. Cf. kiblah n.Originally a stone slab or panel, but now an architectural feature comprising an arch with supporting columns and capitals and the space between them.In early quots. the mihrab is misinterpreted by non-Muslim visitors as an altar.
