A quadrumanous animal ( Cheiromys madagascariensis), nocturnal, squirrel-like, of the size of a cat, found only in Madagascar, where it was first noticed by Sonnerat, c1775; it is classed with the Lemurs, but in many points approaches the Rodentia.
