1911 Jrnl. Royal Microsc. Soc. 51 The author indicates the resemblances between this parasite and Orthonectids and Dicyemids, but thinks that it must in the meantime remain unattached. It is the first ‘Mesozoon’ from a fresh-water animal.
1924 Jrnl. Parasitol. 11 59 The type species, Haplozoon armatum, was originally described by Dogiel..as a mesozoon.
