Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French menton.
Etymology: < French menton chin (late 10th cent. in Old French) < a vulgar Latin derivative (compare post-classical Latin mento chin (12th cent. in a British source), and -oon suffix) of classical Latin mentum chin (see mentum n.).
