1882 H. Watts Dict. Chem. III. 976 Metamylene, a compound polymeric with amylene, probably C20H40, contained in the higher portion of the distillate produced by heating amylic alcohol with sulphuric acid.
1968 A. A. Baker Unsaturation in Org. Chem. iv. 40 Balard proposed the names amylene for C5H10, paramylene for C10H20 and metamylene for C20H40.
